Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program 2017 FALL Contract - Membership Agreement

Please register me as a member of Heidi's Homegrown & Organics Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program for the 2017 Fall season.  I have read the article under "CSA Info" and I understand that farming is a seasonal and unpredictable undertaking, and that exact selections and quantities included in the weekly distribution will change as the season progresses.  In joining the CSA, I agree to share in the fluctuations and variations inherent in farming, and understand that my produce will be grown with sound sustainable farming practices. I understand the "shared risk" in joining any CSA program, and therefore understand that there are no refunds.

A typical share will generally feed a family of three, depending on individual eating habits.  Some crops we are expecting to share this season are: pesticide-free apples, Asian pears, beets, broccoli, cabbage, grapes, greens, spinach, peppers, potatoes, sweet potatoes, assorted fall/ winter squash; i.e. butternut, acorn, spaghetti, as well as some less traditional varieties such as blue hubbard and turban.  We will also offer a jack-o-lantern for each CSA family as well as pie pumpkins.  Other crops will also be included as provided by our farmers.  Our Fall/ Winter share period will run from September 10, 2017 - November 19, 2017. There will be no CSA Share the week of October 29th. We will offer pick up locations in Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Gloucester. Williamsburg pick ups will be Mondays at the Marquis Center in Williamsburg. Home delivery within a 20 mile radius of Williamsburg or Gloucester is also available.  In case of a blizzard, hurricane, flooding or other acts of nature which would make travel unsafe, there will be no pick-up for that week, pick-ups would resume as normal the following week.  In case a member is unable to pick-up any particular week, they may assign someone else to pick up their share, or they may double up on their share the following week.  In any of these situations, Heidi's Homegrown & Organics MUST be notified by email, in ADVANCE of scheduled pick-up date. If notice is not given IN ADVANCE, the share is forfeited.  Forfeited shares are donated to the needy when possible.
